At Dr. Martens, the HR team inspires the people strategy by being (in)credible partners with a vision. We are looking for an individual to join our team who is ready to dive in, innovate and be a positive influence.

Key Tasks:

  • Act as a partner and lend support to team initiatives at our Distribution Center (located in Anchor Park). This position will split time working in the DC and the Burnside office.
  • Build strong relationships with employees, creating a circle of trust to ensure all employees feel supported and have a voice.
  • Provide advice and leadership on human resources related matters to leaders and employees.
  • Manage a variety of HR programs; focused on supporting the employee experience and our culture.
  • Own the Dr. Martens safety program, designing and building resources and conducting training sessions as needed.
  • Lead the new employee onboarding process for all locations (DC, Burnside and Retail), ensuring a positive entry into Dr. Martens.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the FMLA/Leave process; ensuring we are in line with federal and state laws while managing all employee leaves.
  • Manage workers compensation.
  • Support all HR functions as needed; including administrative duties such as filing, organizing employee events etc.

Key Competencies:

  • At least 5 years as an HR professional, experience in an HR Generalist role required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent experience relevant to the role. PHR/SHRM-CP preferred.
  • Positive, goal oriented, problem solver.
  • Able to juggle multiple tasks, prioritizing appropriately to support our business strategy.
  • Solid knowledge of employment laws and ability to research and interpret unknown areas.
  • Clear and empathetic communicator, strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A willingness to jump in on any task.
