HR Business Partner

  • Acting as a daily resource for all HR related matters for all “corporate” functions at our Burnside headquarters office and our distribution and logistics teams at our Distribution Center, located on Swan Island.
  • Engaging with managers and teams to understand their role within the business, drive the people elements of their business objectives and helping to create effective solutions to challenges.
  • Partnering closely with leaders and managers to provide counsel and coaching about leadership, supervision, talent management, employee relations, engagement, and culture to maximize the success of our employees and support teams in achieving their business goals.
  • Together with your regional HR partners, managing global HR programs such as talent reviews, annual people meetings, organizational development, reward framework, etc. and acting as a primary partner to your business groups in navigating these programs.
  • Collaborating with leaders on organizational structure and strategic planning to ensure their team structure and people objectives are aligned with the needs of the business and their team’s short- and long-term objectives.
  • Facilitating/leading internally developed learning and development programs for your business groups (e.g. Respectful Workplace, Ways of Working, New Manager etc.) As required, helping coordinate externally identified and approved training resources.
  • Acting as a cultural ambassador, living our Fundamentals, The Stuff That Sets Us Apart and our Ways of Working.
  • Working closely with all members of the HR team to ensure consistent employee experience across all lines of the business.
  • Administrating various HR compliance functions closely aligned to your areas of the business, such as safety and leaves of absence.

  • 7+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or Business Partner level position 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Footwear, apparel, or fast-moving consumer goods industry experience a plus
  • Ability to balance the needs of the business with the needs of the people
  • Ability to provide effective coaching and counseling to managers and individuals
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism, establishing appropriate professional boundaries and using discretion in all matters
  • Strong people skills with the ability to build trust and maintain positive working relationships
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills required
  • High-level proficiency in MS Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to drive within the Portland metro area weekly. Ability to travel internationally one to two times per year.
