The Systems Administrator will oversee the selection, implementation and management of technology throughout Dr. Martens AirWair US. Areas of responsibility include the full range of information systems and telecommunications activities, recommending practical solutions, and leading company-wide efforts to improve the effective use of technology.

  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrade and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, network equipment, VoIP, and all other IT hardware and software.
  • Make recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase and work with various vendors for procurement.
  • Manage the work and priorities of a technical team including training, motivating, coaching and evaluating performance.
  • Keep abreast of latest changes, features, and security practices for enterprise servers, networking and storage.
  • Support cross functional projects as it relates to system architecture and best practices.
  • Document technical configurations and procedures.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of IT hardware (servers, SANs, firewalls, routers, switches, etc.) and networking (DNS, SMTP, TCP/IP UDP, DHCP, VLANs, etc.)
  • Administration experience with Windows Server and Active Directory.
  • Administration experience with VMware in a production environment. Ideally has installed hypervisors to bare metal, configured networking and shared storage, and managed high-availability hosts through vSphere.
  • VEEAM backup and replication.
  • Familiarity with IT best practices, including security policies and backup strategies.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment, maintain strong attention to detail and have amazing troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Must have a pro-active positive and solution-oriented attitude

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • At least one industry certification (Microsoft, Cisco, or VMware) would be nice, but none are required with enough relevant work experience.
  • 3-5 years of IT experience
