  • You are a team player and partner with other supervisors and leads to ensure a smooth transition between shifts. You are an active participant of the DC management team and maintain open and respectful communication to achieve DC goals.
  • You take the reins when needed, especially when the DC Manager or DC Assistant Manager are not around to ensure the work gets done.
  • You achieve results through your team by hiring, coaching, developing, training and inspiring a team of distribution leads, associates and temporary staff to:
  • Perform shipping, packing, receiving, returns and inventory control tasks to achieve Dr. Martens’ distribution goals.
  • Identify constraints and opportunities within the operation and ensure the appropriate action or training is in place to optimize processes.
  • Follow all safety procedures, reporting and evaluation processes when needed to ensure the safety of all associates.
  • You lead the daily workflow operation of the inbound departments. You know where shipments are by tracking incoming shipments and processing inbound freight, preparing reports to check-in on the product.
  • You coordinate inbound freight deliveries, including prioritizing and scheduling inbound freight.
  • You know how to prep documents to report quantity discrepancies on international shipments to Customs.
  • You are a champion for continuous improvement, taking on initiatives to create efficiencies and to improve processes and systems.
  • Safety and efficiency are your priority when opening or closing the facility.
  • You create a collaborative culture with key stakeholders to achieve daily unloading and put away goals.
  • You lead the returns team to process incoming product returns following the Dr. Martens best practice.
  • You partner closely and cooperatively with the Credit, Customer Service, IT, Sales and Traffic departments.

  • Minimum 5 years working in a Distribution Center environment with 2+ year’s management experience.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience on a variety of Powered Industrial Trucks in a Distribution environment.
  • Experience working independently as well as part of a team with little to no supervision.
  • Experience planning workloads and supervising employees to execute on those plans using strong leadership and team communication skills. 
  • Strong processing and analytical skills in working with computer reporting, data-base management, data-entry, 10-key, and alphanumeric codes.
  • Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) gun operations for order picking.
  • Able to move between different areas by foot and machine for full 8 to 10 hour shifts (not a stationary position).
  • Repetitive bulky lifting up to 50 lbs. with bending, twisting, squatting, including some areas with lifting overhead.
  • Occasional bulky lifting (with assistance) up to 75 lbs. with bending, twisting and squatting.
