Sales Representative - East

You are a motivated sales professional with past experience working with lifestyle footwear accounts. You know the players and the consumers and how to reach them. You get the Dr. Martens brand and are dedicated to providing best-in-class account management to your accounts.

  • Developing and implementing sales and pro-active account management strategies for assigned territory by identifying opportunities to improve existing business and create new business
  • Determining account priority, service levels and order type to ensure sales goals are met or exceeded
  • Compiling, analyzing, and summarizing sales information on a weekly basis
  • Providing seasonal forecasts by account and channel
  • Executing excellence through your expertise in product merchandising/segmentation, visuals, and marketing collateral for respective account(s)
  • Creating best in class presentations and activating your strategic negotiation skills with accounts
  • Adopting and championing Dr. Martens’ distribution strategies
  • Driven to achieve operational excellence through cross functional communication and problem solving
  • Understanding consumer target, customer connection and competitive landscape, including Omni-channel executions
  • Mastery of retail math to help lead the customer’s business
  • Weekly and monthly monitoring of product delivery, with swift response to account and internal inquiries/concerns
  • Building relationships and providing best-in-class customer service from sell in to sell through, driven by Dr. Martens strategic goals
  • Managing the Union Square showroom samples and supplies
  • Attending regional/national tradeshows and sales meetings

  • Degree in business, marketing, management or similar field
  • Five or more years’ sales experience working with independent footwear and/or apparel accounts
  • Background in retail, buying or merchandising is a plus
  • Best in class communication and presentation skills
  • Understanding of retail math (conversion, gross margin, mark-up, gross sales, etc.)
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with a strong team mind-set
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Ability to travel up to 50% domestically
  • Valid drivers license and access to own vehicle required
  • Ability to travel internationally (as required)
  • Able to lift 50+ pounds
