THE GIG

The Interim Senior Group Reporting Accountant will work within the Group Financial Control team, assisting in the delivery of all reporting. You will play a key role in delivering timely, accurate, and compliant external financial reporting for the Group.

This role supports the Group Reporting team in managing the preparation of consolidated financial statements, supporting the audit process, and contributing technical accounting expertise across a broad range of business activities. The role also includes the development and coaching of junior team members and regular interaction with Global Finance teams.

As our Senior Group Reporting Accountant, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading on financial statements, disclosures, and half-year/annual reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Managing auditor relationships, timelines, and cross-functional deliverables across Investor Relations, Sustainability, FP&A, and more.
  • Overseeing monthly Group Balance Sheet, P&L, reserves, and EPS reporting.
  • Providing expertise in technical accounting (IFRS 16, statutory requirements, accounting papers).
  • Supporting and coaching colleagues, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
  • Partnering with Regional Finance teams to ensure consistent, high-quality reporting across the Group.
  • Taking ownership of Dr. Martens Foundation accounts and contribute to finance-wide projects and process improvements.

THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART

Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:

  • Qualified ACA, with experience of large organisations and a role within a Group Reporting function and/or Big 4 audit firm.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and UK GAAP
  • Experience of preparing and/or auditing complex IFRS financial statements.
  • Experience of preparing or auditing technical accounting areas in a group consolidation context and in subsidiary financial statements.
  • Drive and determination to deliver outstanding results.
  • Excellent time management, and organisation skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
