The HR Business Partner, Non-Retail is responsible for delivering the People agenda across nonretail functions in the US, acting as a trusted advisor to leaders and enabling sustainable business performance through effective people strategies. This role partners closely with US functional leadership and the wider People team to translate global People frameworks into locally relevant solutions. It supports organizational effectiveness, leadership capability, engagement and performance while ensuring compliance with US employment legislation and internal governance. By balancing strategic partnership with strong execution, the role plays a critical part in building a high performing, values led organization aligned to Dr. Martens’ growth ambitions.


CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

As our HR Business Partner, Non-Retail you will be responsible for:


1. Strategic HR Business Partnering

  • Act as a strategic partner to non-retail leadership teams in the US, aligning people plans to business objectives.
  • Translate enterprise and People strategies into workforce, talent and capability priorities for supported functions.
  • Provide insight and challenge to leaders to support effective decision making.

2. Organizational Effectiveness & Workplace Planning

  • Support organizational design, role clarity and operating model implementation for non-retail teams.
  • Lead workforce planning activity, ensuring capacity, capability and succession needs are addressed.
  • Partner with leaders on change initiatives to ensure people impact is effectively managed.

3. Talent, Performance & Development

  • Enable performance management processes that drive accountability, clarity and development.
  • Partner with Talent and Learning teams to identify capability gaps and deliver targeted development solutions.
  • Support succession planning and internal talent movement for critical roles.

4. Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Drive initiatives to strengthen employee engagement, retention and inclusion across non-retail populations.
  • Use engagement data and employee insights to inform action and continuous improvement.
  • Champion Dr. Martens’ values and ways of working, fostering a culture of care, courage and authenticity.

5. Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Manage employee relations matters, providing guidance to leaders and employees in line with US employment law.
  • Partner with Legal and People Operations on complex or escalated cases and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure consistent and fair application of policies and procedures.

6. People Operations & Governance

  • Work closely with HR Operations and COEs to ensure effective delivery of core people processes.
  • Support data accuracy, reporting and governance requirements across supported functions.
  • Monitor People risks and KPIs, escalating issues as required.
