THE GIG
As our Global Financial Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our global ledgers and consolidated financials. You will lead global transactional finance activities, deliver timely and compliant financial reporting, and drive continuous improvement across finance processes and systems.
This is a highly visible role that partners with senior stakeholders across Finance, Supply Chain, HR, and Commercial teams, supporting strategic decision‑making through robust technical accounting expertise.
This role contributes to Dr. Martens strategic priorities by:
- Driving operational efficiency - Leading the standardisation, automation, and optimisation of key accounting processes to improve accuracy, speed, and scalability.
- Enabling governance and transparency - Ensuring compliance with IFRS, local statutory requirements, and internal controls, while delivering accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Supporting profitable growth - Providing technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and partnering with cross‑functional teams to ensure financial outcomes support commercial goals.
You will be responsible for:
- Managing global transactional finance operations and ensuring strong compliance with IFRS and statutory reporting requirements.
- Leading delivery of accurate, timely financial reporting, including reviewing and approving journals, accruals, provisions, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Acting as primary contact for external auditors, owning audit deliverables, and driving a clean, well‑controlled audit process across global markets.
- Driving standardisation and automation of global accounting processes, including leading Finance UAT for system changes and enhancements.
- Providing technical accounting support across areas such as revenue recognition, intercompany, fixed assets, inventory, payroll, and COGS.
- Partnering with key business functions to ensure accurate accounting treatment and rapid resolution of issues.
- Mentoring and developing team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART
Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:
- Recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Experience in global accounting operations and multi‑currency environments, with deep IFRS expertise.
- Proven ability to manage audits and deliver high‑quality reporting in fast‑paced, complex organisations.
- Confidence working with ERP systems (D365 and OneStream advantageous) and advanced Excel capability.
- A proactive, analytical, detail‑driven mindset, with a track record of process improvement and change leadership.
- Collaborative, engaging communicator who builds strong relationships across global teams and functions.
