Back in 2018 we implemented a Total Reward Framework, servicing a privately owned business with 1,600 employees. DMs growth has been extraordinary and today we are a far more complex listed business. With 3,500 employees in 20 countries, we’re on a journey of enormous transformation and change; not least in the Reward team.

Embark on a ground-breaking journey as the Global Executive Reward Manager at Dr. Martens in a newly created position in our Reward & HR Infrastructure Leadership Team. If you're ready to build a world-class Reward function and shape a global Centre of Expertise (CoE) alongside HR Operations, Payroll, HRIS, and Employee Relations, this role is for you!

THE GIG

We’re looking for a subject matter expert who will use their expertise to shape our executive reward and share plans agenda. Reporting to the Global Head of Executive Reward, you’ll be responsible for the smooth operation and delivery of all things executive reward and share plans, whilst contributing to process improvements and assisting in defining the future strategy. The role will be varied, and every day will be different; from supporting with the design and implementation of long-term incentives, to creating compelling packages for senior hires you’ll have the first go at drafting papers and preparing for Remuneration Committee meetings.

Ultimately, you’ll have the opportunity to truly get stuck in and use your expertise to really make a difference whilst developing key relationships with senior stakeholders as well as collaborating with the wider HR team, partnering with other functions (Company Secretarial, Legal, Finance) and across the organisation.

As our Global Executive Reward Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing executive incentive programs, model targets, and outcomes.
  • Managing equity programs, including executive and all-employee share plans.
  • Preparing compensation proposals for senior roles and new hires.
  • Contributing to communication and education initiatives. Developing and enhancing policies and processes for efficient administration.

In addition, you'll handle remuneration committee activities, including the Directors' Remuneration Report and liaising with external advisors. You'll also manage job evaluations, benchmarking, and salary surveys globally, utilising frameworks like WTW methodology and collaborating with market data providers.

Your expertise in managing Long-Term Incentive Plans, including PSPs, RSUs, and all-employee share plans, will be key. You'll maintain strong vendor relationships, ensure compliance with rules and policies, and simplify complex information for effective communication.

Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:

  • Experience of managing reward programmes and share schemes.
  • High levels of numeracy, with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, producing data-driven insights to impact business decisions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to quickly build relationships with stakeholders and external advisors.
  • Experience of working with third party providers such as remuneration advisors, lawyers and share plan administrators.
  • Advanced MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
