Plant Manager - Made In England factory

THE GIG

As Made in England (MIE) Plant Manager you’ll be responsible for leading our MIE factory strategy and overall production strategy, as well as overseeing day-to-day Operations & Centre of Excellence.

An inspirational, creative leader and Dr Martens brand custodian, you’ll drive excellence in performance in line with KPIs, partnering with Engineering to drive innovation in manufacturing automation.

The role is based at our MIE factory in Northamptonshire.

As our Made In England Plant Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Leading a production team at the highest standards of productivity and efficiency, in line with budgeted capacity and best-in-class manufacturing standards.
  • Driving the sustainability of manufacturing operations through automation of the production line.
  • Developing a team of highly motivated and capable people, leading through a collaborative management style.
  • Building strong relationships within a complex and matrix organisation
  • Driving a custodian mindset, uncompromisingly protecting product quality

THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART

Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:

  • An experienced Plant / Factory Manager, passionate about delighting the customer and meeting performance targets. Experience in Footwear would be a bonus but isn’t essential.
  • An inspirational leader who can get the best out of a diverse team, instilling a brand custodian mindset, translating strategy into action.
  • Ability to translate best practice and performance standards into lean and agile micro-scale manufacturing principles.
  • Inspire people: share a vision and plan linked to our strategy; make people feel they are part of something bigger; grow your people’s confidence and capacity through coaching and development.
  • Deliver results: empower and hold yourself and your people accountable; create a safe environment to drive performance and progress, not perfection; be agile, find solutions and deliver with integrity.
