Global Financial Accountant - Legal Entities

You’ll be joining at a pivotal time of our Finance journey as we embark on an exciting and challenging period of transformation to centralise Finance globally, support business growth and shape the future of our organization.

THE GIG

Working in a fast-paced team for the Global Financial Accounting Manager the Global Financial Accountant – LE will play a key role in managing the general ledger for all entities within the DM Group including those in the EMEA, Americas, APAC Regions and the Hold Co’s. The team will have a specific focus on ensuring that the accounting within each legal entity is correct and that we have documented & can clearly articulate all accounting differences that exist / any local nuances.

As our Global Financial Accountant – Legal Entities you will be responsible for:

  • Review and report on legal entity accounting differences across the Group, ensuring alignment with the Global Chart of Accounts. Support statutory reporting by understanding and applying local GAAP adjustments, assisting with audit requirements, and ensuring ledgers are maintained in compliance with group and local standards.
  • Manage the timely and accurate posting of legal entity payroll costs, accruals, and prepayments. Oversee month-end close activities in line with internal deadlines, ensuring data accuracy and completeness across all legal entities.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve any issues identified. Support Finance User Acceptance Testing for system and regulatory changes, and ensure adherence to Group Accounting Policies and internal controls.
  • Collaborate effectively with Group functions (Reporting, Tax, Treasury, Supply Chain Finance) and regional finance teams to ensure timely, accurate accounting entries. Build strong relationships with payroll providers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
  • Drive the centralisation of accounting processes, identify opportunities for efficiency, and promote best practice across the finance team. Contribute to a collaborative, solution-oriented team culture and support wider finance initiatives and projects as needed.

THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART

Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:

  • Currently studying towards an accounting qualification with experience in a similar finance role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including VLookups and pivot tables) and comfortable handling large datasets.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Dynamics (D365), multi-currency and multi-site environments, with experience in retail and overseas subsidiaries being highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, proactive, and always looking to streamline processes and improve team productivity.
  • Excellent communicator with a solid understanding of business processes, able to meet tight deadlines and support team members effectively.
