Shift Manager - UK DC

The UK DC Shift Manager oversees the shift and assists the Operations Manager in the daily operations of the UK DC, aligned with the business strategy of delivering best-in-class service at optimal cost.

The role is based at our UK DC in Raunds, near Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. You will primarily be responsible for the afternoon shift (2pm – 10pm Mon-Fri) but flexibility is required.

As our UK DC Shift Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Leading a crew of Shift Supervisors and Warehouse Operatives, ensuring everyone works safely
  • Steering operational tasks to achieve or surpass service, cost, and people goals
  • Taking the helm for DC operations when the Operations Manager's away during your shift.


Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:

  • Solid managerial experience in a DC site, with comprehensive knowledge of warehouse operations. Prior experience in a 3PL is ideal or in a retail brand environment.
  • The knack for nurturing and training people effectively to bring out the best in our team, inspiring them to excel. You'll need to navigate tough conversations when necessary, all while being supportive and approachable.
  • A strong affinity for data, familiar with ‘cost per unit’ KPIs
  • Great relationship management that delivers results through effective teamwork
  • You’ll help build a highly engaged team – ensuring a collaborative culture and providing guidance & support to other team members
  • You will bring the outside-in; you’ll share best practice across the team/business and encourage ideas sharing as well as collaborative problem solving
