Senior Marketing Manager - AMP (6 Month FTC)

THE GIG

This role, a key member of the newly formed Global AMP Collective, is responsible for helping to develop the strategies and plans for one of Dr. Martens’ most important strategic brand priorities over the coming years – driving brand heat and energy through AMP. This person will lead the development of many of the key initiatives, from strategy to ideation to execution, working closely with the other key members of the global AMP leadership team. This person will help shape the future direction of AMP marketing, as well as work hand in glove with the regional AMP marketers, ensuring local insight is built into the global plans, and local activations are aligned to the global strategy. In addition, this role will form a key bridge into the Brand Marketing team, ensuring that key energy stories across both AMP and mainline are working together to drive a cohesive brand story.

As our Senior Marketing Manager, you'll be responsible for:

  • Helping build out the global AMP marketing vision, partnering with the other key members of the global AMP Collective, to develop strategies and plans to keep Dr. Martens at the forefront of alternative youth culture, driving cut-through and sustainable brand heat.
  • Working in partnership with the Sr. Category Manager AMP to develop the long-term vision as well as shorter-term plans for the key pillars within AMP, including collaborations, Made in England & Archive, and 14XX.
  • Overseeing and helping lead the execution of the global AMP marketing strategy and plans, across asset creation, global key city / account activations, and cultural innovator and community involvement. Work with the Global Head of Brand Creative to determine clear roles and responsibilities for the global and regional AMP marketers in bringing the above to life across content & activation pillars.
  • Working with the Head of Brand Marketing to develop a cohesive full brand energy marketing plan, encompassing AMP and key inline Partner with your counterparts in Global PR & Global Social, bringing them into the AMP vision and strategy, and working collaboratively to ensure best in class integrated marketing execution of the seasonal AMP initiatives.
  • Cultivating a global network of Cultural Innovators, bringing them into the Dr. Martens family as key advocates and influencers, co-creating culture-right activations and plans to create the necessary buzz and impact.
  • Being a strong people manager, ensuring your team has clear priorities linked back to the Global Marketing Priorities and DOCS, and are supported with ongoing coaching and development.

THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART

To be our Senior Marketing Manager you will need a strong mix of marketing capabilities, including:

  • Experienced energy marketer, with a proven track record in developing and executing energy marketing plans that drive brand love and resonance in culture.
  • Experience in lifestyle, fashion, and youth culture marketing.
  • Experience building out holistic energy marketing plans across content, social, PR and experiential marketing.
  • Deep knowledge of and relationships with relevant Cultural Innovators as well as culture-right agencies and partners in our top markets.
  • Proven experience planning, executing, and tracking complex marketing projects and budgets, across channels.
  • Experience managing people and building a highly engaged team, ensuring a collaborative, supportive culture.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively present to and influence key external and internal stakeholders.
  • Bring the outside-in; share best practice across the team / business and encourage ideas sharing as well as collaborative problem solving.
