THE GIG
You will embed yourself into the retail and country management teams and travel when needed across the market to provide a first class generalist HR service to all employees in France. You will deliver commercial, proactive and timely support and insights, to ensure we have great teams in place, inspired and able to perform at their best.
- You will develop and execute the people plan, taking responsibility for overall HR service delivery for your area and you will ensure you have the best talent in in the right roles across your area:
- Partner with leaders on talent planning to identify required capabilities and ensure the right scope of all roles within the teams you work with, including leading the talent review and succession planning process
- You will manage the recruitment and hiring process and take an active role in selection of Talent for your area to ensure you have the strongest teams in place, and to ensure smooth running of all hiring processes
- Partner with the TA team to build local employer brand and ensure hiring practices are aligned
- Actively support managers in ensuring there is a strong external talent pipeline for key roles
- Team up with managers and finance to support on headcount budgeting
You will take the lead to ensure the continuous development of our talent:
- Ensure that all new hires have the best setup to enable them to perform in their roles
- Work with leaders to develop their teams, ensuring meaningful development plans are in place to create a talent pipeline for key positions, and ensure an environment that maximises everyone’s potential
- Take an active role in developing High Potential’s, both individually and by identifying and running workshops
- Regularly coach, support and challenge managers to develop their leadership and commercial abilities
- Work with the L+D team to assess training needs for your area; create and deliver appropriate content
You will partner with team to create environment for high performance:
- Identify opportunities with processes, structures, and ways of working to build on high performance
- Support managers to drive engagement, ensuring regular and effective recognition, feedback and coaching
- Take the lead on ensuring effective communication and alignment to business priorities, and ensure the cascade of all other business communication
You will continually work to build on HR Effectiveness:
- Facilitate, support and guide on all employee relations issues to ensure a successful conclusion
- Roll out global initiatives and ensure delivery of the Global people plan for your area, and support on projects
- Support HR Operations & Payroll on the development and evolution of local processes and policies and practices
- Partner with the reward team to evolve and implement benchmarking in line with reward policies
- Ensure all information is sent to HR Operations and Payroll teams to enable processing in line with deadlines, educating the team on payroll and operational processes, and lead on resolution of complex operational issues
- Manage cyclical people processes: pay review, talent review, etc
- Manage local benefits schemes and ensure compliance with statutory requirements

- Similar experience within a people partnering role in a retail environment
- Know what good looks like, from a business perspective in a store environment
- Have a passion for developing great people to unlock potential and performance
- Possess great coaching skills, with the ability to support, develop and challenge managers
- Be a confident communicator, able to translate HR jargon into something meaningful for non HR people
- Have a collaboration and partnership approach to create alignment between the business and all areas HR
- A natural problem solver, able to think of creative ways to solve challenges
- Strong relationship builder with the credibility to take the lead and challenge or influence people’s thinking
- Curious about how the business works and be driven by unlocking great performance
- Resilient and adaptable, and ready to embrace and support regular and ongoing change
- Well organised with strong time management, prioritisation and execution
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel & PowerPoint. Working knowledge of HR Management Systems (HRMS)/data bases
- Be able to travel regularly within France, and occasionally to the UK
