Global Assistant Accountant (Cash)

THE GIG

Working in a fast-paced team for the Team Lead, Global Cash Accounting, the Global Assistant Accountant, Cash will be expected to input, analyse and reconcile the retail and ecommerce general ledger cash accounts alongside all standard banking procedures (posting bank receipts / payments and producing high quality bank reconciliations).

As our Global Assistant Accountant (Cash) you will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for all cash and bank reconciliations across retail and ecommerce (D2C) channels, covering all legal entities globally, including EMEA, Americas, APAC, and holding companies.
  • Lead global intercompany reconciliations, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and ecommerce customer debtor reconciliations, ensuring timely issue resolution and alignment with group policies.
  • Support continuous improvement of month-end processes and internal controls; drive efficiencies, reduce manual tasks, and ensure group and statutory accounting requirements are met.
  • Liaise with Group Treasury, Retail Operations, Customer Services, and regional finance teams to resolve cash-related queries, maintain ledger accuracy, and meet reporting deadlines.
  • Assist with audits, support global projects affecting cash transactions, uphold best practices, and contribute to a positive and solution-oriented team culture.

THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART

Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:

  • Actively studying towards an accounting qualification with at least 3 years’ experience in a similar finance role.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (D365), preferably in a retail, multi-currency, and multi-site environment; European subsidiary exposure and foreign language skills are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and nominal ledger accuracy; proficient in Excel (VLookups, pivot tables) with the ability to analyse large datasets.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and inquisitive, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and willingness to support teammates under tight deadlines.
  • Clear communicator with a continuous improvement mindset, focused on streamlining processes and increasing team productivity.
